They're trekking through the woods, out past the usual patrol boundaries. Bellamy doesn't sleep much after Mount Weather -- after the battle at their settlement, after coming down to the ground, after losing his mother and Octavia in one fell swoop -- and he'd gone out into uncharted territory. Kane would tell him to be careful, probably, but what Kane doesn't know can't hurt him.

"Uh-huh."

At this point, Octavia is just humoring him. Possibly also following him to make sure he doesn't get himself killed -- she spends her own share of time out beyond what Kane would consider the safety perimeter, and she's never seen whatever it is that's got Bell acting like this. So, possibly also a little curious.

He shoots her a look, catching that tone -- but at the same time, he's relieved she came out here with him at all. He needed to talk to someone about what he'd seen, someone who wouldn't think he was crazy. Plus, unlikely as it is, O might have answers. She hasn't been in contact with Trikru since Mount Weather, as far as he knows -- and she'd better not, after they abandoned them all to die at the mountain -- but she'd had a lot of chance to learn from them.

They pass into a clearing, at the center of which is a raised stone. Thrust into that stone is a sword, sparkling and looking new as something freshly forged. There's script on the stone, but it's mostly worn away. The only legible words are something like whosoever and sword and worthy.

Bellamy gestures at the sword in the stone, like, see?

At this point, she doubts anyone from Trikru would want to talk to her, either. The abandonment at the mountain was terrible, and it came with a particularly deep sting.

None of what she managed to learn, though, prepares her for whatever the fuck is going on in this clearing.

"How did someone get that in there?"
